Qualified/Experienced Welder

We are currently seeking an experienced Welder with the expertise in welding aluminium and steel. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and durability of our products. If you are a skilled and detail-oriented welder with a passion for precision, we invite you to apply for this role.


Responsibilities:

To be successful in the role, you will be required to:

  • Weld Aluminium and steel components according to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
  • Produce work to the highest quality within the scheduled timeframes.
  • Inspect completed work and make necessary adjustments to meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve production targets.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proven (2 years) experience as a welder or hold a trade qualification in welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in welding techniques including MIG and TIG welding.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and guidelines.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team at our headquarters facility in Toowoomba or our new manufacturing facility in Narangba, Brisbane.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will help direct a highly efficient team of Mechanical Engineers.

 

Responsibilities:

To be successful in the role, you will be required to:

  • Prepare drawings in Solidworks, review and approve new designs.
  • Maintain and administrate PDM.
  • Help with the development of new products.
  • Identify engineering improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Responsible for planning and managing projects, work packages and team members from initial planning, concept, and brief, through to design, review, and approval.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge, providing oversight and supervision to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide mentoring and training to develop less experienced Mechanical Engineers.
  • Provide positive contributions to our team culture.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years in Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of Australian engineering codes and standards.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a creative approach to overcoming engineering challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey mechanical engineering outcomes with suitable language that can be understood by clients, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Strong project management abilities, including coordinating team efforts and adhering to project timelines.
  • Be proficient in the supervision of subordinate personnel.
  • Efficiently assist in allocating engineering design and drafting resources to meet deliverable dates and man-hour budgets for timely deliverables ensuring project schedules are met for areas of assigned work.

Trade Assistant

With continued strong business growth TUFF Australia is looking for a passionate Trades Assistant to work in our departments at our head office based in Toowoomba, QLD. 

 As a TUFF Trades Assistant, you can apply your excellent work ethic and skills to contribute to the manufacture of market leading premium products. The ideal candidate will be very reliable, highly motivated with strong communication skills, mechanically minded and the ability to work well in a team environment. 

 

You will provide support to our skilled tradespeople in carrying out various tasks relating to their trade. This role involves assisting with manual labour, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

 

The Role Requirements:

  • Demonstrated exposure to and an understanding of production processes.
  • Attention to detail with high quality standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in the understanding of the need for quality and timelines in service to ensure the organisation meets the expectations of our customers.
  • Experience and knowledge in the use of various hand and power tools.
  • Basic experience in metal fabrication/welding.
  • Experience with Machine Operating/Assembly Work.
  • Working closely with trade qualified fabricators or boilermakers.
  • Work with steel and alloy.
  • Forklift licence would be an advantage.
  • Great attitude and work ethic.

You will work under pressure by focusing on the right priorities to meet your scheduled timelines. Ideally, the successful candidate will be very passionate, self-motivated, enthusiastic professional who enjoys a diverse working environment.
