V2 Outback Steel Trays

TUFF Australia spent months in R & D in collaboration with Innovact Consulting to design, test and deliver a revolution in steel trays.
The tray design went through rigorous FEA static and dynamics testing using “ANASYS” to simulate the terrains such as farm fields and rutted mining grounds under a load of 1500kg on the tray bed.
The simulation results show the tray structure will have a significant capacity to react to the loads.
The V2 Outback Trays are smartly designed and manufactured using state-of-the-art technology which helps us to reduce the weight of a dual cab tray by 5-10kgs* even when the V2 Dual Cab Tray is 30mm longer.
This means more space and less weight.
The V2 Outback Trays still accommodate all the add-on features you want including bike ramps, under tray drawers, gooseneck pins, headboard water tanks, under tray poly tanks and toolboxes, with style and TUFF’ness added in the new design.
The V2 Ute Tray is also designed to eliminate rust issues. The tray capping which was rivetted before is now fitted with heavy-duty industrial double-sided tape for better finish, durability, rust and rattleproofing.
Additionally, the 25×25 steel stiffener in the drop-sides is replaced by an extra fold using the highly precise Amada Press Brake to provide higher strength while reducing around 1.5kg in weight in each drop-side.

Original Outback Steel Trays
TUFF Steel Ute Trays are welded frame trays avoiding relying on bolts and plastics for key components.
At the heart of TUFF Outback Steel Ute Trays frame is the 3mm thick, 75x50mm RHS chassis rails. The headboard is made from 76mm diameter steel that has a wall thickness of 3.2mm -this gives additional strength to protect the cab. TUFF headboards are not made of lightweight exhaust pipe tubing.
Steel ute trays are abrasive blasted, high zinc primed and powder coated in our own facilities. Alternatively, your TUFF Outback steel ute tray can be given an automotive two-pack paint finish and colour matched to your vehicle.
TUFF Outback steel ute trays are built to the same quality standards as the legendary TUFF Bullbars so they will provide reliable operation for many years.
The Outback steel ute tray is a no-compromise product made for the harshest conditions – it is a welded steel product rather than being bolted together with plastic hinges as is the case in competitor products.
